Topic: Development of Digital Financial Inclusion in China


Speaker: MO Xiugen, head of research in the Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) at Renmin University of China.


This lecture will give updates on the present situation of digital finance in China, and reviews its evolution in the past decade. What are the factors that drive the development of digital finance and how it improves financial inclusion will also be discussed.


Speaker bio:

Dr Mo currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Research in the Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) at Remin University of China. He was awarded PhD in Economics by the School of Business of Mississippi State University, and MS in Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics by Pennsylvanian State University. His research interests cover areas of financial Inclusion, rural economics, program and policy impact evaluation, sustainable development, inequality and poverty analysis. He has been holding leading positions in Governmental Departments, Chinese and International NGOs before joining CAFI.
