Four Teachers from RUC Won Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Awards

A ceremony was held online in Beijing and Hong Kong on July 21 to present the 18th Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation (FYTEF) awards to selected young lecturers from higher education institutions in recognition of their outstanding performance in scientific research and teaching. Four teachers from Renmin University of China (RUC) were awarded.

Wang Xiaosong, Professor of School of Economics, RUC, and Chen Xuan, Professor of School of Law, RUC, won the second prize of the Youth Science Award; Wang Runze, Professor of School of Journalism and Communication, RUC, and Zhang Chengsi, Professor of School of Finance, RUC, won the Second Prize of Education and Teaching Award.

Wang Xiaosong (first from left), his main research direction is international trade, especially the analysis of political economy of trade policy. In the face of major national events, he has repeatedly spoken out in the country’s mainstream media, making outstanding contributions to clarifying the facts and effectively responding to them.

Chen Xuan (second from left), his main research fields are the principle of criminal law liability, the theoretical system and judicial application of emergency power, etc. He has made remarkable innovations in many aspects of his research field.

Wang Runze (second from right), deputy dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, is engaged in the teaching and research of the history of journalism and communication. She actively explores the innovative construction of the discipline system, academic system and discourse system of journalism and communication.

Zhang Chengsi (the first from the right), deputy dean of the School of Finance and Chief Expert of Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, is in charge of the national first-class undergraduate major (finance). He innovated the professional teaching system of the finance course. He has done excellent in both scientific research and teaching material complication, which brought him fruitful education and teaching results.

FYTEF was established by Hong Kong’s famous entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Fok Ying Tung in 1986, established to fund and reward university teachers who have made outstanding achievements in scientific research and educational teaching.
