Conference Review | The School of Finance successfully held the 5th Financial Forum

On July 7th and 8th, Beijing time, the 5th Financial Forum of the School of Finance of RUC was successfully held online. James Hamilton, a professor at the University of California, San Diego; Tatevik Sekhposyan, an associate professor at Texas A&M University; Eric Swanson, a professor at the University of California, Irvine; Nora Traum, an associate professor at the Advanced Business School in Montreal; and Liu Zehao, an associate professor at the School of Finance of RUC and Wang Jingye, an assistant professor at the School of Finance of RUC, and other top scholars from domestic and foreign universities, along with other teachers and students from finance schools have been discussing topics such as “Macroeconomy, Monetary Policy, and Financial Markets”.

The forum was hosted by Professor Ma Jun of Northeastern University. Professor Zhang Chengsi, vice president of the School of Finance, gave a welcome speech to the forum. He introduced the history, development status, scientific research and academic achievements of the School of Finance. Zhang Chengsi said that in recent years, teachers of the School of Finance have made a series of influential and significant scientific research achievements in the field of financial research, and made important contributions to the formulation of national financial policies and the construction and development of disciplines. Finally, on behalf of the school, Zhang Chengsi extended a warm welcome to Chinese and foreign scholars who participated in the forum, hoping that this series of forums would become an influential platform for Chinese and foreign financial experts and scholars to conduct international academic exchanges.

A total of six Chinese and foreign scholars have given academic reports at this meeting. On the morning of July 8, the 5th Financial Forum was successfully concluded. This conference interprets and analyzes the global financial market and macroeconomics, and discusses the frontier issues of financial and macroeconomic policies in various economies around the world. The School of Finance has held financial forums for five consecutive years, which has built a good platform for international and domestic scholars. It has enhanced the attention of international academic circles to China’s financial industry, RUC and the School of Finance, promoted the display of academic achievements on the international stage. The forum has played an important role in improving the internationalization level of scientific research of the School of Finance, further promoting the overall international construction of the school and promoting the construction of 'First-class universities and disciplines of the world'.
