time:2025-04-06

At noon on April 2, the School of Finance held the "Face-to-Face with the Dean and the Party Secretary" student-faculty symposium. Themed "Empowering the Future of Finance with Smart Tech, Innovating the Learning Journey with AI," the event aimed to explore ways to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into academic studies and to seize development opportunities amidst ongoing technological transformations.

Over 20 student representatives were invited to the symposium to engage in direct dialogue with the school's leadership. Attendees included Dean Zhuang Yumin, Party Secretary Sun Hualing, Vice Dean Ma Guangrong, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Deng Hui, along with other relevant faculty members. The meeting was moderated by Deng Hui.

During the session, students engaged in lively discussions with the faculty regarding the development of AI teaching resources, guidelines for technology application, and skills training. The faculty members provided detailed responses addressing three main categories of student inquiries: curriculum optimization, the boundaries of academic ethics, and the cultivation of practical skills.

Party Secretary Sun Hualing stated that the new technological revolution requires young people to proactively embrace change while building their core competitiveness based on the fundamental nature of their academic disciplines. She expressed her hope that students will maintain a keen sensitivity to new technologies while focusing on developing irreplaceable expertise in the field of finance. She also emphasized that the school will always place students' developmental needs at the core of its work and continue to enhance its support systems.

From the perspective of discipline development, Dean Zhuang Yumin noted that the integration of finance and technology will undergo a phased evolution. In the early stages of this technological transformation, tech professionals may take the lead, but the ultimate key to success lies in a profound understanding of the essence of finance. Currently, the school is advancing curriculum reforms that combine financial logic with technological tools to cultivate versatile talents equipped with both technical capabilities and professional depth. She encouraged students to be confident in the future of the discipline, adopt a proactive attitude to meet the new challenges of the fintech era, and write a brilliant new chapter as modern financial professionals.

As a regular communication mechanism of the School of Finance, the "Face-to-Face with the Dean and Secretary" symposium selects participants through voluntary registration. It is designed to better understand the opinions of students and faculty, adopt constructive suggestions, address pressing concerns and difficulties, and effectively promote a collaborative school development model characterized by co-governance, co-construction, and shared benefits.
