摘要：The causal relationship between health and education has been studied in a variety of ways in the literature. In this paper I examine the impact on the people’s educational attainment of a major infrastructure program, which aims at improving the quality of drinking water from the 1980s in rural China. By employing a longitudinal data set with around 5000 male adults, I find that this health program has raised their educational attainment, increasing the years of education and the probabilities of graduating from different stages of school. And the results are robust to a host of robustness checks.
